Orhan Veli’s poem İçerde deals in four lines and 13 words with the isolation in enclosed spaces and the perspective that a window opens.

The work represents an attempt to translate and intensify this feeling into a kinetic installation. A box covered with steel sheets, provisionally fixed with four tension straps, can be seen. Inside, one hears an object slowly scraping in a circle along the walls thus created.

The wall currently touched by the object bulges slightly outward, creating a minimal gap that opens a view into the interior. When changing from wall to wall, a sudden jolt occurs, contrasting with the gentle scraping and setting the entire object in motion. The piece plays with questions of communication, threat, and protection.
